Express Entry & Provincial Nominee Programs

Express Entry System

The Express Entry system manages applications for three federal economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). The system uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability.

CRS Score Breakdown

The CRS awards up to 1,200 points based on: • Core human capital factors (age, education, language, Canadian experience): up to 600 points • Spouse or common-law partner factors: up to 40 points • Skill transferability factors: up to 100 points • Additional points (provincial nomination, job offer, Canadian education, etc.): up to 600 points

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)

Each Canadian province and territory (except Quebec and Nunavut) has its own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These programs allow provinces to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and settle in a particular province. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an invitation to apply.

Canada prioritizes certain occupations through category-based selection: • Healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, pharmacists) • STEM professionals (software engineers, data analysts) • Skilled trades (electricians, plumbers, welders) • French language speakers • Transport workers

Average salaries vary by occupation and province: • Software Engineers: CAD $70,000 - $120,000 • Nurses: CAD $60,000 - $90,000 • Skilled Trades: CAD $50,000 - $80,000 • IT Professionals: CAD $65,000 - $110,000

Immigration Process
